The technical aspects of the game must be developed and mastered for players to achieve greatness in hockey. Although we stress the importance of perfecting these skills in all of our camps, it is imperative that coaches continue to enforce these skills during every practice. This allows the skills to be permanently retained.

Coaches who attend the Weiss Tech Hockey coaching clinics will learn to adequately instruct young players through each level of the Hockey Hierarchy of Learning. The clinics will teach coaches how to recognize the mistakes their players are making and how to correct them. They will also be provided with both Play Books and Drill Books so that they can become students of the game, and continue to learn, and teach their players, beyond the completion of our Four-Level development program.

Program Overview

All clinics will consist of 10 hours of instruction spread over two days. Coaches will be tutored both in the classroom, and on the ice.* Classroom instruction will include chalk-talk, video analysis, and active discussion of hockey concepts. The ice sessions will be for coaches to practice the actual skills they will be teaching.
